I’m luckier than a lot of people. I’m self isolating at my parents house, on five acres of bush, with a beautiful river to walk along. I’m not stuck in my tiny one bedroom apartment in Melbourne, although eventually I’ll have to go back and face the reality of my new normal – can’t hide out in the country forever!
I’m also lucky in that I travelled more in the first three months of 2020 than some people would in a whole year, or their life even! From January to March I lived on planes and out of a suitcase; travelled to Hobart, Perth, Broome, Port Douglas, Sydney and Adelaide, and I kept saying ‘God I just want a whole week at home in my new apartment!’ Well, be careful what you wish for!
This week I was supposed to be on the Kimberley Coast at one of my favourite places in the world, Berkeley River Lodge, but that trip along with my trip to Bali in May has been cancelled. So for now, I’m enjoying some down time and the sound of the river rushing after a heavy rainfall, and I’m dreaming of the other side, when I can see my friends, and go to concerts and bars and restaurants and most importantly, travel!
