I’m four weeks into a major health and fitness regime with Hayley from Love My Body, and while I am slowly starting to see changes in my body (today I felt actual leg muscle!) and getting used to the horrendously early starts (6am boot camp, kill me now!), I am also loving the excuse to wear gym gear pretty much every day of the week! I’ve never been an ‘exerciser’, so couldn’t justify forking out massive amounts for gym gear, but since being introduced to Running Bare (generously gifted to me) I’ve realised why women are willing to go out and spend big on fitness wear – it’s SO comfortable, and nothing jiggles! And in Running Bare’s case, it’s just so pretty!
I caught up with Yolanda from Running Bare to chat all things fitness & fashion, and get the lowdown on their fabulous new Spring Summer collection, Peak Conditions.
What was the inspiration behind your gorgeous ‘Peak Conditions’ range?
Oh lord, everything! Our biggest difference as a fashion fitness brand is that we very rarely look to our competitors for inspiration. We find the catwalk & the international fashion houses much more bold and fun and I think that is why RB is so unique and never looks like anyone else.
What is the Running Bare fitness ethos?
We have Four – we call it the Fab 4: Fierce Fitness Fashion that is always Fabulous. Our aim is to constantly push the boundaries by developing fierce fitness fashion with superior performance, quality and design.
As a brand RB is always pushing the boundaries when it comes to fashionable flattering fit on the body to make a woman look and feel gorgeous. We don’t ever design for one particular woman in mind but rather ALL woman, and that’s a key point of difference from our competitors.
The colour and boldness of the range definitely motivates me to get up and moving! Do you think there is some kind of psychology behind looking good in your gym gear and feeling motivated to work out?
Absolutely! When you look good, you feel good, and when you feel good – you’re unstoppable! We’ve been designing sportswear for over 30 years, and people’s attitude to fitness these days is different. We are more educated about fitness, about being healthy; living longer; diets and eating and living well. Now fitness is just a part of our everyday lives so in turn it only makes sense that wearing tights while you work out and then wearing those same tights to run errands after your work out is not so mind blowing.
What are your must have looks from the collection?
From the SS15 collection my favourite current look for say Sunday brunch, would have to be ‘League of her Own’ black cardio zip jacket that has amazing perforated sleeves paired back with our ‘Easy Rider’ cotton muscle tank, and our full length Harley tights, for the ultimate sports luxe look.
