Nikon is officially a century old. In celebration, this beloved company has partnered with Swarovski to create – wait for it – an exclusive reproduction of the famed Nikon Model I in crystal. Yes, a CRYSTAL camera. This completely unique and utterly gorgeous camera is an aesthetic marvel, complete with a corporate logo from 1948 and engraved text along the lens.
Though the Crystal Creation Nikon Model I is without a doubt the most spectacular anniversary product, it is far from the only one. The Nikon dynasty centres on optics and capturing light. As such, they have on offer everything from microscopes to binoculars. Everything one would need to capture and create timeless memories.
The Nikon Model I was initially created in 1948 using the most advanced optical techniques of the time. It represented a turning point for Nikon; the start of something magical. Of course, what better way to celebrate not only a birthday, but a millennium birthday, than with a recreation so extra it puts Elton John to shame.
The Nikon brand was established in 1917, fuelled by the philosophy of trustworthiness and creativity. Harnessing opto-electronic and precision technologies, and developing a reputation for reliability and exactitude, Nikon quickly became, and has remained, a household favourite.
