I was lucky enough to meet and work with Natasha Heal on her journey to become the New Look of La Mascara Beverage Co. With cameras in her face all day, stylists and crew poking and prodding her, drastic makeovers and being away from friends and family for weeks on end, Tash took it all in her stride and was her gorgeous smiling self. I’ve been following her modelling career since she won a contract with Giant Management and have been blown away by some of the amazing images popping up on her Instagram! If you haven’t heard of this fresh faced Aussie beauty yet, take note, because I predict she’s going to be the next big thing in the modelling world. I caught up to chat with Tash about her role as the New Look of La Mascara, her blossoming modelling career and of course working with Jackie and Ben Gillies.
How has your life changed so far, since becoming the face of La Mascara?
My life has changed quite a lot since becoming the face of La Mascara. I realised just how much I love modelling and Melbourne, so as soon as I got back to Sydney I packed up my things and moved back. I have joined Giant Management who are an amazing agency and have been doing a lot of photoshoots for my portfolio. I have also been spending as much time as I can with my dear friend Cam and working on my charity website Your Bucket List Buddy, which has just recently launched.
What was it like working with Jackie and Ben Gillies during the competition?
I have always been a huge fan of all the Real Housewives shows and right from the start Jackie and Ben were my favourites. Meeting them in person was so exciting for me and through the ups and downs of the competition they were both so supportive and understanding. They really looked after us girls and are just a beautiful down to earth lovely couple and very much an inspiration to me.
What was the highlight of the experience for you?
I have to say the highlight for me was La Mascara organizing for me to surprise my friend Cam on the show with my charity website, which I am doing in honour of him. It was such an emotional experience and to be able to see the shock and gratitude on his face when I showed him the website meant so much to me. I will be able to watch that moment whenever I want to because of La Mascara. I will keep that memory forever. For that I am eternally thankful to Jackie, Ben and the whole La Mascara team.
As part of your prize you won a contract with Giant Management! How has working with Giant been so far?
Working with Giant has been amazing. They are an agency that every aspiring model or even working model should have. They have been very supportive and have been working so hard at organizing castings and shoots for me. The bookers at Giant are all so friendly and happy to see you anytime you want to pop in. They really do care about their models and that’s the perfect fit for me.
You also won a new wardrobe from Melbourne label Elle Louise Designs. What pieces did you splurge on!?
Elle Louise has soooo many beautiful garments, it’s been such a tough decision to choose what I wanted. I did snap up a few great pieces like the Embellished Slim Line jacket, the scalloped edge knit top and skirt and also the waisted mesh skirt. It’s always fun being able to splurge on such amazing clothes.
What are some of your other favourite Australians labels?
I love Life with Bird for it’s pretty yet edgy designs, it is definitely my type of style. I also love Josh Goot and I have also just discovered a new up and coming designing named Lukas Vincent. He is the very talented creative director in the process of launching a high-end denim label called EXINFINITAS, which is a unisex label. I love making men’s style, so this label really suits me.
What’s your health and beauty regimes?
I work in retail so I am on my feet all a lot but I also try to walk my dogs everyday after work. I love going for walks as I find that it’s a great way to clear my mind and helps me stay healthy and happy on the inside and out.
I am getting back into pilates and Giant also have great free workout sessions for their models which will be a lot of fun to do. I don’t diet or restrict myself from indulging in treats but I do believe it’s all about creating balance in your life. If you work on your inner happiness then everything else does tend to fall into place.
As for my beauty regime my mum always taught me that moisturizing is key. I know a lot of young girls start wearing makeup at quite a young age when they really don’t need to. I love getting made up for a photoshoot or if I’m having a night out with friends but I feel you should allow your skin to breath for the majority of your day.
What does the rest of 2015 have in store for you?
I am spending a lot of time working with my charity and also working toward being a full time model and hoping to travel with this. Personally I am planning a holiday to New York and may look into some agencies while I’m there, but really for me it’s just about growing and developing as a person. I want to help more and try to do more to make this world a better place.
